The State of Wisconsin is divided into
four regions; each region has its own association and leadership.
The philosophies and objectives of these four regions are the
same and we share information and often train in each other’s area.
A few times each year representatives from each region meet
to discuss code changes, state issues, exchange information and
reinforce our unity and continuity.
In addition to the four regions there is the League of Wisconsin
Municipalities. It is a
nonprofit and nonpartisan association of cities and villages working
to advance municipal government.
Established in 1898, the League acts as information clearing
house, lobbying organization and legal resource for
Wisconsin
municipalities.
Within the
League of Wisconsin Municipalities is the Building Inspector Institute. The Institute is administered by inspectors representing the states four
Building Inspectors Associations.
The League sponsors a conference, once a year, for the four regions.
It is a great opportunity for training with other inspectors from the
four corners of the state.
Also in
addition to the training, during the conference, the institute holds its
Building Inspector Institute annual meeting.
It
is always interesting to have discussions with and hear about the problems and
issues other, far away, inspectors have and to discover that they have the same
problems and issues as you.
